Mayra Verdugo is one of the Founders of 909 Market Foundation. A Mexican-American first generation college graduate from California State University Los Angeles. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She began her business endeavors with an online jewelry store in 2020. In 2021 she co-founded 909 Open Market with her husband, Christian Verdugo, a Farmer’s Market/ Open Market in the city of Pomona. In the year 2022 she also co-founded 909 Night Market, a food festival.
Starting off as a small business owner herself, she learned fast that the small business community is in need of support. 909 Market Foundation was created to help small business owners through education and mentorship. Working with so many micro businesses within the farmer’s market community she has helped hundreds of vendors obtain necessary permits to start to legitimize their businesses. Mayra is passionate about helping others succeed.
Meet the Founders
Christian Verdugo is one of the Founders of 909 Market Foundation. Christian is a first generation Mexican- American who has years of experience in running and operating successful businesses. In 2015 he started a painting business, Modern Pacific Painting, as project manager he led dozens of successful painting projects both residential and commercial. He is co-founder of 909 Open Market and 909 Night Market, two successful open air markets that host micro and small businesses. He has guided hundreds of vendors through processing health permits and obtaining liability insurance. He has led workshops where he has shown business owners how to start up their business. Christian is very passionate about helping small business owners succeed.
